Been using the excellent Caskfinder app on my iPhone and found it really great. Just turn it on wherever you are and you can choose between a comprehensive list of British craft brewers with their addresses, web sites and contact details, a suggested beer of the week, an engaging beer blog (not as engaging as this one), a list of upcoming beer festivals, a QR beer barcode scanner but most importantly , if you have location services enabled on you smartphone, up pops a local map and you can chose from being directed to your nearest pub serving decent cask ale. Yep, you can follow the map and pretty soon a frothing pint of well-kept ale (guaranteed by the Cask Marque standard and regular inspections) will be sitting in your hand. Time to put the phone away.
