This is the long overdue beer blog people have been urging me to write for some time. It may take some time to get going but welcome!
I have written about beers almost as long as I have been drinking them, and that's a long time! I have been beer correspondent for Sainsbury's Magazine and Watering Holes correspondent for the Financial Times, and in my travels as a foreign correspondent for The Sunday Times, tasted just about every sort of beer you can imagine (and then some) in some very odd places, from old Soviet vending machine beer (laced generously with vodka) to Pilsner Urquell in Vaclav Havel's local on the eve of the Velvet Revolution, to Hook Norton best bitter in my Oxfordshire local and the delights concocted by Evin at the Kernel Brewery around the corner from my London flat.
This blog will give opinions (probably too many), advice (take it or leave it), and comment (possibly insufferable) on all and any things to do with the great art of brewing and the even greater art of consuming - beer. I hope you enjoy it.
